Mencap is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Peterborough, working with individuals with learning disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, and building meaningful relationships with our service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and medication management.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure high-quality care and support.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting others and making a positive impact on people's lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract Options

  • Part-time contract: 15 hrs, 18 hrs, or 20 hrs a week.

Shift Times

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance, so you can still plan your personal and social life.

Days: short shifts between 07:30-22:00.

There is also a sleep-in available, where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
