Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 ADHD Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. In this role, you will work closely with a specific student with ADHD, helping them overcome learning barriers, fostering engagement, and encouraging positive behaviors in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with ADHD, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Use a range of strategies to promote engagement, motivation, and positive behavior in students with ADHD.
- Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure consistent support and communication.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to ADHD and special educational needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with ADHD or similar behavioral challenges is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning and development.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to remain calm under challenging circumstances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- A positive and nurturing approach to supporting students with special educational needs.
- An understanding of the Church of England ethos and a willingness to support the school's values.
