The Commodity Manager will be responsible for managing procurement expenditure and product-related services, including the development of strategic relationships with existing, former, and future suppliers. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, with a focus on delivering cost-effective solutions for our cargo sites.

The successful candidate will define and own the capability, strategy, and operational excellence of assigned commodities, develop key innovation sourcing activities, and promote risk-aware sustainable procurement. As a trusted advisor, you will work side-by-side with stakeholders to deliver best-in-class products.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure an effective sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service, and technology of our current and future offers.
  2. Identify new product development opportunities and automate manual processes to improve productivity.
  3. Support the product roadmap to deliver an efficient supply chain for future sourcing requirements.
  4. Maintain expertise/knowledge of market trends, including comprehensive review of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, and competition landscape.
  5. Leverage the Global Commodity team for specialist assistance where needed.
  6. Proactively work supply chain impacts and obsolescence issues.
  7. Support multi-site procurement projects.
  8. Manage KPIs to ensure quality and delivery standards are fully maintained.
  9. Lead, motivate, support, and develop procurement team members in Strategic Procurement.
  10. Drive efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development.
  11. Ensure we are leveraging synergies across the OSI Systems procurement groups.
  12. Ensure the cost, quality, and time-oriented supply of all required products and services in line with the respective business plans, budgets, targets, and strategies.
  13. Contract negotiation: cost, quality, delivery, cash, compliance, and ensure full adherence to the business standard contracting terms and conditions.
  14. Conflict management: in the event of non-performance to the contractual terms, quotation, or legacy agreement.
  15. Ownership of the strategic relationship: ensure regular internal and external strategic reviews with senior key stakeholders.
  16. Manage new supplier sourcing and selection – ensuring a value-based relationship and proposition.
  17. Support the make-or-buy decisions, prepare data and plans for relevant commodity gate reviews.
  18. Work within documented procurement/planning systems that comply with ISO guidelines.
Qualifications
  1. Experience in procurement and Supply Chain Management processes, including quality management, financial analysis, and contract negotiations.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in business administration or Supply Chain preferred, as well as previous purchasing experience.
  3. Minimum 10 years' commodities purchasing experience, including IT, electrical/electronic control & automation, mechanical, and fabrication.
  4. Operations experience with five years' experience in procurement/materials/inventory management a plus.
  5. MCIPS/APICS membership, equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  6. Experience in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  7. Proven track record in achievement of cost reduction in purchased parts and/or services.
  8. Proven ability to work well with others at all organizational levels, to organize and prioritize, and to participate on cross-functional teams.
  9. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  10. Intermediate and proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  11. Experienced and proficient user of MRP/ERP software (Microsoft Navision/Dynamics).
  12. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, and supply market dynamics.
  13. Knowledge of ISO quality assurance methods.
