Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Estates and Facilities Management team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining mechanical, air, and water systems, ensuring they meet current legislative standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform statutory inspections, testing, and reporting of failing plant or assets.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient environment for the university community.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve facilities and services.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Current full EU license or equivalent permanent license.
  • Willingness to undertake training in other trade disciplines (gas safe).
  • City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ/technician qualification in mechanical services (heating, ventilation, plumbing installation and maintenance).
