Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at C and N Recruitment. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pastry section, including preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of pastries and desserts, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Staff Management: Lead and mentor junior pastry chefs, providing guidance and support to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Food Preparation: Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and cost control.
- Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage portion and waste control to maintain margins and budgets.
- Health and Safety: Maintain strict adherence to culinary standards, health and safety regulations, and cleanliness for a safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a pastry chef in a high-volume kitchen.
- Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Excellent culinary skills, leadership, and communication skills.
- Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, punctuality, and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
