About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Onboarding and Risk Expert to join our team at Starling Bank. As a key member of our Periodic Review leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe onboarding of high-risk applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in onboarding and risk management, providing guidance and support to the onboarding and Periodic Review teams.
  • Review high-risk applications, ensuring they meet Starling's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and coach team members to build their knowledge and confidence in high-risk subject matter and Starling's risk appetite.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the bank's customers and assets are protected.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the onboarding experience and reduce risk.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in onboarding and risk management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify potential risks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations and JMLSG guidance.
