Band 6 Practice Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Practice Nurse to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As a key member of our primary healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe, evidence-based, and individualized patient care, including the management of chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Undertake technical nursing treatments and procedures, including wound care, sutures removal, and electrocardiograms.
- Coordinate the development of plans to meet the health needs of patients, including diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and health promotion.
- Support the development and delivery of specialist services, such as long-term disease management and health education.
- Professional and specialist knowledge in primary healthcare acquired through postgraduate degree or diploma.
- Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.
- Quality improvement methodology or willingness to undertake training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Anaphylaxis training.
- Level 3 safeguarding training.
- Registered non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake training.
- Experience of leading and promoting health and well-being clinics, including smoking cessation and weight management.
- Experience of providing care to patients with chronic illnesses, including asthma, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Evidenced of continuous professional development and the practical application of new skills to the workplace.
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
