The Junior Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in managing all quoted projects nationwide, overseeing complete refurbishment initiatives that adhere to specified requirements, and ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and flawless project completions.

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor at Bellrock, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues within your area of expertise.
  • Participating in project briefings, progress updates, and handover meetings as required.
  • Assisting in the development of briefs, design concepts, and specifications.
  • Delivering regular updates to clients, ensuring that any variations or unexpected issues are communicated promptly.
  • Reviewing architectural and engineering plans to ensure compliance with all specifications and regulations.
  • Supporting the administration of construction projects by securing necessary permits and licenses.
  • Estimating and quantifying material needs, obtaining written quotes from approved suppliers as necessary.
  • Planning resources and aiding in the scheduling of both direct and subcontracted labor.
  • Researching costs associated with operating or renting specialized equipment, transportation, labor, and other overheads.
  • Monitoring and managing project budgets, addressing financial changes, and ensuring that variations are approved and budgets are adjusted accordingly.
  • Building strong relationships with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients while upholding the company's professional image.
  • Supporting the development, management, and enhancement of quality and environmental management systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conducting Engineer audits.
  • Completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Quality, and Legal tender documentation.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A degree in quantity surveying.
  • Experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accurately interpreting and conveying commercial information. Precision in data entry for internal and external work management systems is essential.
