Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Originator to join our dynamic team on the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Desk in Shell Energy Trading. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of energy by identifying and developing opportunities in the renewable gas market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with renewable gas suppliers and consumers across Europe, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and market trends.
  • Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities to build structural supply and demand positions in select markets, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Commercial Structuring and Negotiation: Collaborate with Sales teams to develop and market renewable gas to a customer base including industrial and commercial accounts, commercially structuring and negotiating terms and transactions with Traders.
  • Deal Management and Lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle of deals, ensuring post-contract requirements are met and liaising with Regulatory and Operations teams to ensure deals can be managed within an evolving regulatory landscape.

Requirements:

  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record in Origination or Business Development roles, with a strong understanding of the renewable gas market and its regulatory landscape.
  • Market Knowledge and Relationships: Strong existing relationships within the renewable gas market, with a deep understanding of relevant regulations and schemes.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external counterparts to progress deals efficiently.
  • Agility and Adaptability: Agile, adaptive, and resourceful mindset in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and market trends.

Desirable Skills:

  • Language Skills: Business fluency in additional European languages such as German, Dutch, and French.
  • Transaction Structuring: Experience structuring and originating options-based transactions, with a strong understanding of quantitative skills and the ability to model transactions.
