Culture Guru is seeking an Environmental Consultant/Advisor to join a reputable and established property development organization.
The Environmental Consultant will be responsible for managing environmental and resource strategies across various project sites, offering guidance to project teams in meeting their environmental goals. This role entails frequent site visits to conduct evaluations, ensuring adherence to legal standards and the company's environmental policies, while accurately gathering essential data.
As part of the sustainability division, the consultant will compile and manage data, assist in monitoring performance, generate reports, and communicate project results within the team.
A key aspect of this position is collaborating with project teams to integrate environmental considerations and enhance the ecological performance of construction sites. The role also provides opportunities to refine daily environmental practices associated with construction operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting regular site assessments to ensure compliance with the internal environmental management framework, preparing comprehensive reports on environmental performance, and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Securing all necessary permits and licenses to align with environmental legislation.
- Accurately collecting, analyzing, and reporting data (including waste metrics and resource consumption) to evaluate progress towards sustainability targets.
- Working alongside construction project teams to improve site performance by advising and supporting site leaders, developing guidance materials, and engaging with teams to review outcomes.
- Contributing to the broader sustainability division to promote best practices and uphold commitments.
- Staying updated on emerging environmental regulations and best practice guidelines, assessing their implications for the organization or projects.
- Proactively seeking to enhance performance and foster innovation by collaborating with management and staff.
- Raising awareness of environmental management through both formal and informal training sessions for project teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- A valid driver's license is essential due to site travel requirements.
- A background in construction or environmental management, complemented by a relevant degree.
- Experience in key areas such as energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of environmental challenges pertinent to the construction and housing sectors.
- Strong data analysis and management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization and inspire positive behavioral changes.
