Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to work closely with the Tax Partners and wider Partners within the business, servicing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tax efficient strategies for personal and corporate clients
  • Provide support to clients with complex UK and international tax issues
  • Corporate tax: deal with basic tax planning, cross-border tax structuring, and dealtaxstructuring activities, restructuring R&D, EIS, capital allowances
  • Personal tax: support the Head of Tax regarding tax projects for individuals (e.g. dividend planning, CGT trusts, non-domicile, VCT, IHT)
  • Oversee a team of junior tax staff
  • Ensure the quality of personal tax and corporate tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales
  • Work with the Tax Partners to grow and develop the firm and increase advisory services to clients
  • Engage with local referrers and other external third parties regarding business development
  • Confidently explain tax issues and options to clients in a non-technical manner and present to small groups in client workshops or internal training courses
Requirements
  • CTA/ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in tax and a demonstrable passion for working with clients in the public and third sector
  • Experience of a client or customer-facing role
  • Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio
  • Interest in building client relationships in order to generate fee-paying work
  • Experience of operating or an exhibited ability to operate at a Tax Manager or Associate Director level within a busy professional practice
