About the Role

MCS Group is seeking a highly skilled Bid Manager to join their business development team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in the overall performance of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Tender Process Development: Review and develop robust tender processes and innovative content to ensure best-in-class submissions.
  2. Submission Coordination: Coordinate tender submissions and engage with team members, highlighting special requirements, deadlines, site visits, etc.
  3. Proposal Creation: Responsible for creating strong written proposals, reviewing, and editing content as well as presenting completed tenders ensuring all instructions and deadlines are met.
  4. Pricing Strategy Formulation: Formulate the unique bid pricing strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders in the business.
  5. Resource Allocation: Provide guidance on resourcing and pricing mechanisms and rates for each bid/pitch/tender opportunity.
  6. Content Review: Review bid content and provide a pre-submission control point to ensure submission conformity.
  7. Bid Library Management: Maintain the bid library, ensuring it is regularly updated, and content is available for use. Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
  8. Project Timelines: Ensure timescales are achieved at each step of the bid process, including all internal governance, while taking the initiative in setting realistic deadlines.
  9. Client Presentations: Coordinate and plan all client presentations required as part of the bid submission.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews.
  11. Handover and Reporting: Conduct detailed handover of finalized bid & presentation to the team who will deliver the presentation. Report to the leadership team on business development activity, with a particular focus on bids.
  12. Sales and Networking: Play an active role in Sales and Networking activities as part of the Business Development Team, attending client meetings, networking events, etc.
  13. Commercial Support: Assist the Business Development team with sales and commercial-related activities; re-tenders, pricing, etc. as and when required.
About You
  • 2 years experience in the same or similar role/industry.
  • A proven track record of success in a similar role/industry is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Commercial Cleaning Industry.
  • A high level of computer skills including up-to-date and accurate data entry with proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Positive attitude to work and excellent team player.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Highly developed listening skills with the ability to clearly understand client needs and develop credible value propositions.
