Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of high-end fire alarm systems, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Complete electronic worksheets, timesheets, and mileage/expense claims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in health and safety training to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all relevant engineering practices are followed, reporting any inconsistencies to a senior engineer or line manager.
  • Escalate to a supervisor or senior engineer and the office in case of delays or difficulties, such as traffic delays or vehicle problems.
  • Update site logbooks with details of all work carried out while on site.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment in good condition and report any damage, theft, or loss to the Service Supervisor.
  • Adhere to good timekeeping and housekeeping practices at all times.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the line manager through telephone calls and emails.
  • Develop effective client relationships and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Attend training courses to extend knowledge and skillset of various manufacturers' products.
  • Test completed circuits to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Understand and adhere to CAD drawings, making informed decisions on cable routes.
  • The role may involve working at heights, with training provided.

Requirements and Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers in a professional and consistent manner.
  • Installation experience and knowledge of high-end fire alarm systems.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
