Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation Service at King's College Hospital. As a Specialist Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac disease.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing an integrated cardiac rehabilitation service for residents within Lambeth & Southwark, working closely with primary and secondary care.
  • Work as an independent and autonomous practitioner within a multi-professional team, ensuring that patients with multiple pathologies due to cardiac disease receive the highest standards of care.
  • Manage cardiac rehabilitation patient caseloads, running your own clinics and jointly managing the cardiac rehabilitation programme of exercise and education sessions.
  • Provide professional support, clinical expertise, and appropriate education and training to all those professionals involved in providing care to patients with cardiac disease.
  • Draw on advanced specialist knowledge and use professional skills of the highest standard to act as an autonomous practitioner to assess, plan, and provide specialized cardiac rehabilitation services for cardiac patients.
Requirements
  • Advanced practitioner through formal qualification or extensive cardiac clinical experience.
  • Good assessment skills, including exercise prescription.
  • Relevant, demonstrable experience in cardiac services and rehabilitation.
  • Ability to impart complex information to patients, relatives, and carers, with different levels of understanding.
  • Ability to work independently as an autonomous practitioner and also work effectively as part of a team.
  • Informed understanding of the psychological impact that cardiac disease has on patients and their recovery.
  • Proven experience of service development.
  • Ability to utilize research in practice.
