About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team at Iggesund Paperboard. As a Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the engineering department, ensuring the efficient operation of our premium paperboard production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the management of equipment and assets to ensure optimal utilization and minimize waste.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to production colleagues, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the engineering management team to achieve common goals.
  • Promotion of Lean and Problem-Solving: Encourage and facilitate lean and problem-solving activities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Communication: Develop strong communication links with site shift managers to aid planning and execution of tasks.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead and develop the craft resource, senior craft, and apprentices, focusing on good standards and discipline.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage the supply of craft resources mill-wide for efficient execution of maintenance.
  • Planned Maintenance: Operate as a key member of the area planned maintenance shutdown process and execution.
  • Engineering Duty Rota: Ensure all employees are aware of and adhere to applicable laws, agreements, and rules.
  • Area Budget: Set and achieve area budget targets.
  • KPIs: Monitor and achieve key performance indicators, particularly uptime, engineering cost per tonne, and work completion.
  • Resource Management: Manage and coordinate internal and external resources and expertise.
  • Maintenance and Asset Management: Ensure effective maintenance and asset management practices.
  • Objectives: Set and carry out objectives to drive business success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Education: HND (or equivalent) in Engineering, or vast experience in a management position (Engineering degree preferred).
  • Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Excellent knowledge and competence in maintenance engineering.
  • Understanding of failure analysis and maintenance strategy.
  • Good knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
  • Computer literacy skills with working knowledge of 'Windows Office suite.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
