About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced communications professional to join our team at Lincolnshire County Council. As a key member of our Communications team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our 700,000 residents are well-informed about our services and that our 5,000 staff members are updated on vital council information.

Your primary responsibility will be to create engaging written, image, and video content for our website and social media platforms, highlighting the positive impact of our work in local communities. You will also contribute to planning and coordinating integrated communications campaigns, covering internal, external, and digital communications, to ensure that residents, service users, and stakeholders stay informed.

As a Strategic Communications Lead, you will work closely with local, regional, and national journalists to maximise media coverage that reflects the great work being done across LCC. You will also provide strategic and tactical advice to senior politicians and key officers on media, communications, and marketing plans.

About You

We are looking for an experienced communications professional with a background in journalism or corporate communications in either the public or private sector. You should bring proven practical experience in communications planning and execution, along with a strong creative flair for developing innovative strategies.

You will enjoy flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity to work from home and attend key council meetings, important sessions with senior officers and councillors, and occasionally travel to other county locations for meetings or PR opportunities.

About Our Offer

We offer a competitive salary, a contributory pension, comprehensive benefits package, flexible working policies, career progression opportunities, and a generous annual leave entitlement. Further details can be found on our website.

Please note that your covering letter/personal statement should clearly state why you have applied, how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the role, and what you feel you can bring to this role, the team, and the wider County Council.
