Job Summary:
SyR - Shoreside Superyacht Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading innovation in the maritime sector, with a focus on foils and electric propulsion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external clients to define project scope and deliverables.
- Support colleagues in hull and appendage design, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop vessel layouts, routing systems, and component selection strategies to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Design and engineer foils and foiling systems, including hull modification, to meet client requirements.
- Develop composite systems, specifying material usage, layup schedules, and weight estimations to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform basic finite element calculations to validate design assumptions.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or master's degree in naval architecture, with a strong understanding of composites and composite manufacture.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in naval architecture, with a focus on foiling projects.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens NX and performance craft design principles.
- A passion for innovation and a willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
