Job Title: NEBOSH Regional Gas SHEQ Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NEBOSH Regional Gas SHEQ Advisor to join our team at Inside Avenue Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on health, safety, environment, and quality matters within the company's Gas Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of health, safety, quality, and environmental matters within the company's Gas Division.
  • Provide professional advice and solutions to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Develop and implement health and safety best practice to ensure the company complies with current health and safety legislation.
  • Work proactively with all levels of management to establish and maintain a safe system of work and a safe environment for colleagues and clients.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and utility damages, and establish the root causes and introduce preventative measures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Compile project data and upload onto the company's electronic management system.
  • Ensure site notice boards are current and are erected in the appropriate place.
  • Assist in the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires and tender documentation.
  • Monitor the health, safety, environment, and quality performance on contracts and take necessary steps to improve standards.
  • Carry out regular and continuous site, compound, and CDM audits.
  • Ensure that CDM sites are compliant and the relevant documentation is in place and in date.
  • Assist in compiling, reviewing, and revising project SHEQ documentation and welfare setup.
  • Ensure that all levels of staff under your influence have the appropriate training in health, safety, quality, and environmental matters.
  • Co-ordinate with the SHEQ Department in all health, safety, environment, and quality matters.
  • Set a good personal example and wear the required protective equipment for the site you are entering in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure that effective arrangements exist to protect the health and safety of your workforce and ensure that all relevant operational and emergency procedures, codes of practice, instructions, and legislation are implemented and observed.
  • Be accountable to the SHEQ Manager/Director in respect of health, safety, quality, and environmental matters.
  • Responsible for exercising a general duty of care for the health, safety, environmental, quality, and welfare of employees.
  • Notify any changes in your duties to all others who may be affected by these changes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR.
  • Manage health, safety, environmental, and quality effectively in the same way you manage other aspects of the job.
  • Provide specialist advice on the company's safety policy and procedures and compliance with statutory obligations throughout the company.
  • Monitor arrangements to ensure that health and safety standards applied by contractors are satisfactory and in accordance with contract and company specifications, policy, and procedures.
  • Ensure that site employees work in accordance with the company's health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures along with the clients' requirements.
  • Recommend disciplinary procedures where any member of operational staff fail to discharge their responsibilities with regards to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.
  • Take appropriate action when notified of disregard of safety, health, environmental, and quality on site.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for persons working in or visiting any company operation, site, and/or premises.
  • Monitor provision and effectiveness of adequate and existing welfare facilities.
  • Promote the reporting of near misses throughout the company.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH/NCRQ Level 6 (NVQ Level 5 as a minimum standard).
  • EUSR or CSCS in a related subject.
  • NRSWA (SWQR).
  • Working knowledge of HSG47.
  • Power/Fibre/Water/Gas experience.
  • Proficient in Accident/Incident investigation & RCA.
  • Proficient in data analysis & compiling Reports.
  • Competent in core standard Microsoft Software.

Working Hours: This role will involve weekend, night working, travelling, and occasional overnight stays.

Location: Home Counties – M25 Corridor.

Salary: £45,000-£50,000.
