Qualifications for the Lead Care Support Specialist:
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care or higher
  • At least two years of experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home environment.
  • Understanding of Person-Centred Care Planning principles.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices

Responsibilities of a Lead Care Support Specialist:
  • Serve as a positive role model; provide effective supervision and guidance for the team; contribute to their performance and professional growth
  • Communicate any concerns to senior management
  • Ensure the execution of individual care plans, performing routine tasks and activities as directed
  • Provide practical support and responsive care to residents requiring assistance with personal care needs
  • Observe and monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any changes are reported and documented
  • Oversee and allocate tasks for Care Assistants
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with residents, colleagues, and visitors
  • Undertake medication administration training and administer medications to residents
