Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are seeking a dedicated Programme Delivery Surveyor to enhance our Investment and Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will embody our values and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the lives of our residents and communities. This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with a competitive salary ranging from £42,403 to £49,498 per annum (pro rata for part-time).
Role Responsibilities:
As a Programme Delivery Surveyor, you will report directly to the Programme Manager and be responsible for executing capital investment and revenue work initiatives, including sustainability projects, across Babergh and Mid Suffolk's housing and corporate assets.
Your Key Duties Will Include:
- Supporting the Programme Manager in developing capital and revenue investment plans, focusing on sustainability initiatives.
- Leading the operational execution of investment programs from inception through to final accounts, ensuring sustainability standards are met.
- Overseeing the Resident Liaison and Project Officer to guarantee projects are managed effectively and serve as the primary contact for customers regarding scheduled works.
- Managing the Programme Auditor to ensure timely mobilization of all work, adhering to contract and budget stipulations.
- Collaborating with consultants and contractors to ensure the timely and budget-compliant delivery of sustainability retrofit projects, meeting high-quality standards and relevant guidelines.
- Preparing detailed work specifications and Auto-Cad drawings for contractors, including necessary tender documentation.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Experience in delivering major works programs within social housing or a related sector.
- Proficiency in budget management and addressing financial discrepancies.
- Ability to produce comprehensive schedules of work.
- Experience in managing building contracts from inception to completion.
- Expertise in delivering sustainability retrofit programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents to provide exceptional services.
- Experience in managing multiple contracts and fostering long-term relationships, ideally within a contract management framework.
- Assisting in the procurement and initiation of contracts.
- Leading a small, dedicated team to deliver a customer-focused service.
Knowledge of contract law, health and safety regulations, and statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements is essential.
