The Director of Project Excellence will be responsible for establishing and maintaining best practices in project delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project management methodologies and standards to ensure high standards of governance and health across the business.
  • Collaborate with the PMO function to ensure effective project delivery and resource allocation.
  • Manage large teams of Project Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain robust portfolio dashboards and KPIs to track project performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional departmental leaders to influence project delivery and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver projects successfully.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure effective project delivery and minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address project delivery challenges and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Experience managing large teams of Project Managers and developing talent.
  • Excellent background in resource and budget management, with direct budget responsibilities in excess of £30m.
  • Experience overseeing a wide range of project and program workstreams.
  • Proven experience developing robust portfolio dashboards and KPIs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the PMO function to define processes and documentation.
  • Comfortable supporting Project Managers in their projects and providing cover when required.
  • Happy to question and challenge peers and managers when processes and procedures do not meet expectations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence cross-functional departmental leaders.
  • A team-builder and team player, able to work comfortably in a highly collaborative setting.
