Overview:
The role of the Station Operations Supervisor is pivotal in ensuring the station team delivers outstanding customer service while maintaining safety and compliance with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the station team, including agency personnel, to foster a secure environment and provide exemplary customer service.
- Direct and manage staff activities in accordance with safety protocols, ensuring accurate documentation of checks and addressing any non-compliance to enhance operational standards.
- Collaborate with all station users to maintain a safe and secure atmosphere, taking necessary actions to avert accidents and diligently reporting and investigating incidents.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents as per established procedures, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Deliver customer service as required, assisting Shift Station Managers in elevating service standards through monitoring and feedback.
- Conduct shift briefings, assign responsibilities, ensure proper use of equipment, and arrange cover for roles on short notice.
- Engage with the British Transport Police and other law enforcement agencies to implement strategies aimed at preventing criminal activities at the station.
- Perform regular inspections of the station, proactively addressing hazards or unsafe conditions, and ensuring all incidents are logged appropriately.
- Execute assigned duties as outlined in emergency plans, ensuring the team adheres to these protocols effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in managing diverse situations with confidence.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Educational background including GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
- Experience in handling challenging or confrontational scenarios.
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Willingness to complete Station Incident Officer Training upon appointment.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in a supervisory role.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
- Conversational proficiency in a language other than English.
