The Role: Diabetic Eye Screening Specialist

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our Central Mersey Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (CM DESP) team. As a Diabetic Eye Screening Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing essential eye health services to people with diabetes across Warrington, Halton, St Helens & Knowsley.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct retinal screening clinics for patients with diabetes.
  • Capture high-quality images of patients' eyes using specialized equipment.
  • Assess the images for signs of diabetic retinopathy and other eye conditions.
  • Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients, explaining their results and next steps.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
