What will you be responsible for?

You will oversee the complete production cycle in the UK, ensuring the supply of gelato and gelato treats to various retail locations. This role is crucial for maintaining professional and commercial production standards to support our business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure the safety of the Production Team by adhering to established processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment at all times.
  • Conduct safety audits regularly.
  • Provide feedback regarding machine issues and maintenance needs.
  • Design and implement production initiatives, policies, and procedures tailored to Badiani’s standards, including food safety and quality protocols, in compliance with legislation.

Food Hygiene:

  • Monitor Critical Control Points diligently.
  • Oversee the review and maintenance of all production requirements.
  • Uphold cleaning standards consistently.

Production Efficiency:

  • Schedule daily and weekly tasks for the team.
  • Monitor production speed and overall performance.
  • Identify causes of delays and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Train staff in safe and efficient production methods.
  • Organize production areas to optimize workflow for specific production days.
  • Manage team absences and fluctuations in production demand effectively.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that customers receive high-quality and appealing products.
  • Maintain ingredient and product specifications, including recipes, allergens, and labeling, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Team Management:

  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Oversee recruitment processes.
  • Facilitate training and development opportunities.
  • Manage staff schedules.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Several years of experience in the food production sector, with a proven track record in managing production operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in food safety and quality control practices.
  • Familiarity with food production processes, including processing techniques, packaging, and storage.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Relevant experience in gelato production is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Italian or Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.
