About the Role

We are seeking a Category Manager to champion the voice of the shopper and customer both internally and externally. The successful candidate will enable Kerry and its customers to adopt a shared category vision through tailored category development plans.

The Category Manager will create and deliver category customer strategies that address consumer needs, influence shopper behavior, and drive category growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing category vision, strategy, and tactics aligned with Business Unit goals
  • Defining clear growth plans and tactics to unlock Category and Brand growth across a top 5 grocery account
  • Documenting and reviewing actions by category/subcategory/range supported by customer, shopper, consumer, and brand insight
  • Compiling promotional analysis to direct both the customer and Kerry Foods on the most optimal promotional plan and strategy
  • Identifying white space opportunities and compiling and delivering compelling category selling stories
  • Using insight and market trends to inform decision-making across project teams
  • Delivering DARE content to support category team development
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in Business or Marketing discipline (desirable)
  • First experience in a category or commercial role
  • Ability to develop and tailor category vision and strategies to engage internal and external contacts
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of innovation platforms and proposition development
  • Understanding of UK customers and trade channels
  • Knowledge of shopper missions, mindsets, and journeys in categories and channels
  • Ability to manage and prioritize customer and internal work demands
  • Excellent relationship-building and customer-facing skills
  • Impactful and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and challenge thinking and decision-making internally and externally
