Job Purpose:

Deliver robust and reliable development and validation testing for air, fuel, and exhaust systems in accordance with component and vehicle development plans. Ensure that product attribute targets are met and exceeded. Provide critical support to vehicle program timelines, cost objectives, and quality standards across all Aston Martin projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to define precise component and system performance targets.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test procedures for air, fuel, and exhaust systems.
  • Create and manage detailed Development Verification Plans (DVPs) for components, systems, and vehicles.
  • Plan and execute rigorous mechanical development and performance testing programs.
  • Oversee supplier validation processes and ensure the integrity of supplier DVPs.
  • Lead problem-solving investigations that arise during development programs, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Become an integral part of the vehicle team, actively participating in the integration of air/fuel and exhaust systems into the powertrain.
  • Work closely with build teams to optimize instrumentation layout and requirements for testing.
  • Collaborate with virtual validation teams to guide analysis and ensure accurate correlation between simulation results and physical test data.
  • Analyze and interpret physical test results, correlating them with simulations and validating design functionality.
  • Continuously optimize existing test procedures and data analysis tools for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the calibration team to ensure optimal performance and reliable operation of powertrain systems.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Powertrain Systems S.E.T Team.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive hands-on experience in powertrain testing and development roles.
  • Proven expertise in failure investigations and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience managing and developing external engineering resources effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive optimization through data analysis and process improvement.
  • Strong collaboration skills with design and simulation teams, understanding data analysis and the design process.
  • Proven ability to work across functional teams effectively to deliver viable design solutions.
  • Experience managing concern resolution processes within a complex engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with OEM development processes and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in managing testing budgets and adhering to project timelines.
  • Proficiency in Italian language skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standard dyno and vehicle validation procedures.
  • Astute project control skills, including resource planning, timing management, milestone setting, and meeting discipline adherence.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, with a strong background in powertrain development.
  • Relevant industry courses – HV electrification safety awareness training.
