Position: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Mercury Shopping Centre, Romford

The ideal candidate will be tasked with:

  • Executing all responsibilities in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and standards.
  • Ensuring that Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed punctually and according to the established schedule, while also providing prompt responses to urgent issues reported through the helpdesk.
  • Performing remedial mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as minor installation projects.
  • Conducting reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance as necessary.
  • Assisting with general maintenance duties and non-electrical tasks as needed.
  • Coordinating and supervising subcontractors when required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 in electrical installation.
  • City & Guilds 2391 certification in Inspection and Testing.
  • Familiarity with the 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Basic plumbing skills.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance setting is essential.
  • IOSH certification in Health & Safety is a plus.
  • Operational knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems.
  • Additional expertise in Fire and Detection Systems, Security Systems, Generators, UPS Systems, Gates and Barriers, air compressors, and Lifts is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to participate in out-of-hours call-outs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems.
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work systems.
