MTrec Ltd is proud to represent a distinguished engineering organization seeking to hire a permanent Service Engineering Specialist to operate within the South West region.

Your primary responsibilities will include visiting various client locations across the UK to perform routine maintenance on all types of Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters, as well as installing and replacing equipment as needed, in addition to responding to urgent breakdown situations.

Flexible Working Hours:
Available shifts based on customer needs:

* 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday,

* 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Call-out schedule: 1 week in every 4 weeks on call, compensated at premium rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support existing customers with their drive systems.
  • Assist in minor installations of Motor Control Centres (MCCs), and new Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters.
  • Respond to breakdowns at customer sites for reactive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the sales team.
  • Demonstrate experience in the maintenance, servicing, repair, or commissioning of Variable Speed Drives.
  • Preferred qualifications include C & G Part 1, 2 & 3, HNC/ONC in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Inspections & Testing Certificate (desirable).
  • Possess a current JIB Skills Card or CCSC.
  • Safety Passport required.
  • Knowledge of Direct Online Starting and Star Delta Starting is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred as software programs are utilized for certain commissioning tasks.
  • Familiarity with PLC, Soft Start & Variable Speed Drives, Instrumentation, and 4-20mA Control is advantageous; however, training will be provided.
