About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at The Odney Hotel, a beautiful and unique John Lewis Partnership-owned hotel set on 130 acres by the River Thames in Cookham, Berkshire.

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will work alongside the Head Chef, leading and developing the team to produce exceptional food and service, utilizing seasonal and homegrown produce from our estate's Kitchen Garden.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of produce and ingredients, excellent cooking skills, and previous experience in a Senior Chef Role in a similar venue.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in planning, producing, and delivering Hotel food offers
  • Leading and developing the kitchen team to achieve business and personal objectives
  • Writing menus that are both creative and profitable
  • Managing kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
