Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and knowledgeable Employment Legal Counsel to enhance our vibrant legal team. In this critical role, you will provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice on employment law matters throughout the organization, with a particular emphasis on TUPE issues, Employment Tribunal claims, and intricate employee relations challenges. You will also assist in our strategic European expansion initiatives as necessary. Reporting directly to our General Counsel, you will work closely with HR, legal, and various business units to ensure compliance and align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities...

Deliver precise and straightforward advice on a broad spectrum of employment law issues, including TUPE, ACAS, and Employment Tribunal claims, ensuring alignment with organizational values and legal standards. Prepare and evaluate employment-related documents, such as contracts and HR policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements while reflecting the company’s ethos. Oversee and provide counsel on employment litigation matters, collaborating with external legal advisors as necessary to secure favorable outcomes. Lead and coordinate employment law initiatives, offering timely and business-centric legal advice that supports organizational goals and drives commercial success. Provide training and support to HR and business teams on employment law, internal policies, and best practices. Collaborate with other legal and business teams to address cross-border employment issues, particularly within the EMEA region.

Qualifications...

Licensed attorney with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in employment law within the UK and EMEA. In-depth understanding of TUPE, Employment Tribunal processes, UK/EMEA employment law, and experience with IR35 regulations (focusing on employment law, status assessments, and compliance). Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts clearly and succinctly. Strong interpersonal abilities, fostering effective collaboration across teams and regions. Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. Enthusiasm for working within an e-money and payments sector, with a keen interest in technological innovation. Uphold the highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
