As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving the service forward and meeting the local needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the care needs of patients with tuberculosis and develop a comprehensive programme of care, evaluating and refining it as necessary.
- Deliver BCG vaccinations to eligible individuals, providing education and support to parents, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Actively promote equality and value diversity, utilizing interpreting services to facilitate effective communication with patients from ethnic minority groups.
- Provide high-quality, autonomous care to patients, working at an advanced level of practice.
- Manage a caseload of patients, providing enhanced case management and supporting colleagues in their absence.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of quality nursing care and local and national TB databases, including analysis of results.
- Participate in education, development, and supervision of other staff members.
- Act as a clinical and professional role, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement.
- Work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
- Deputise for the TB lead at strategic or national level.
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
