This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to join our forward-thinking TB team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the BCG service to eligible neonates born in Nottingham, working closely with the existing administrative team and TB team to ensure seamless delivery of the vaccine.
Main DutiesThe post holder will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality care to babies, as well as older children and adults up to 35 years if eligibility criteria are met
- Working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake screening and BCG clinics at City Campus
- Supporting the administrative team with screening babies and infants, reviewing SCID results, immunisation and medical records, and designing training packages for delivering a BCG vaccination programme
- Participating in future BCG vaccination training and developing expertise in TB and BCG vaccines

RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have:
- Current 1st-level NMC registration
- Diploma or degree in health/nursing-related studies
- Competence in medicines management and possession of a mentoring course
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with patients with medical/respiratory conditions/immunisation programmes
- Ability to demonstrate professional autonomy and effective decision-making
- Supervision of non-registered staff, pre-registration, and post-basic students
- Evidence of ability to mentor
