Transport Planner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Prime Appointments. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to Drivers Hours and Working Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance.
  • Register and download vehicle and driver cards, ensuring correct maintenance and registration.
  • Maintain fleet ownership and maintenance records, ensuring up-to-date and compliant DVSA file check sheets.
  • Conduct regular vehicle and trailer inspections, maintaining safety and maintenance documents.
  • Manage insurance records, fleet records, and DVSA records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Develop and implement Transport Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.
  • Investigate transport accidents and near misses, reporting incidents and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements:
  • Experience in planning express or same-day van drivers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
  • Experience with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry.
