Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with haemoglobinopathies and other blood disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct research and audit to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of Paediatric Haematology.
  • Teach and mentor junior medical staff and students.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • MBChB or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in MRCPCH/MRCP or FRCPath.
  • Relevant clinical experience in Haemoglobinopathy.
  • Good team-working skills.
  • Eligible for specialist registration in Haematology.
Desirable Qualifications
  • MD, PhD, or other higher degree.
  • Relevant clinical experience in Laboratory Haematology.
  • Experience of Audit.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or a demonstrable commitment to developing research within this field.
Essential Skills
  • Organisational skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Full registration with the GMC.
Desirable Skills
  • Leadership skills.
Other Requirements
  • Registered on the GMC Specialist Register (or be within 6 months of CCT date from the date of interview) or equivalent.
