Freight Personnel is a leading logistics company that specializes in customs and air freight services. We are seeking an experienced Customs and Air Freight Manager to join our team.

**Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Customs and Air Freight Manager to oversee our customs and air freight processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing air freight space, ensuring compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, and driving down costs.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage our ETSF, AEO, and MOU
  • Manage end-to-end import and export processes and customs entries
  • Manage our customs integration provider
  • Manage a team of customs clerks to ensure smooth running of customs processes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations
  • Act as the main contact point for customs-related matters for the business
  • Design processes and build SOPs, circulate to the business, and ensure they are being followed
  • Obtain required air freight space, liaising with providers and monitoring volumes to ensure no delays or waste of space
  • Liaise with air freight providers to drive down costs and improve service
  • Manage carriers and handling agents to minimize issues and combat exceptions
  • Report to the business on various topics, such as AKE fill rate and air freight costs
  • Work with analysts within the team to create relevant and impactful reporting
  • Establish Starlinks Global's wholesale and screening program, offering to market our services as a third-party wholesaler and manage these relationships

**Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of imports, exports, and trans-shipments
  • Familiar with multiple customs systems
  • Strong commercial focus and ability to negotiate
  • Experience creating and discharging transit docs (T1 etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of customs processes and systems
  • Proven track record of building and leading a team
  • Experience with bonded goods and bonded clearance
