Gray Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to a young non-verbal gentleman in his own property.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Support Worker who is passionate about delivering person-centered care. You will work on a 1-1 basis with the gentleman, supporting him with his daily needs and activities. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs and behaviors, and will be able to implement detailed care plans and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care and support to the gentleman, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Assist the gentleman with his daily activities, such as mobility and transfers.
- Implement and maintain detailed care plans and risk assessments, in collaboration with the gentleman's care team.
- Support the gentleman with his social and recreational activities, including outings in his mobility vehicle.
- Experience of working in social care, ideally with autism experience.
- Current Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 6 months' employment in the UK.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days and waking nights.
As a Support Worker with Gray Healthcare, you will receive comprehensive training and support to help you develop your skills and career. You will also have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and experienced care team, and to make a real difference in the life of the gentleman you support.
Our ApproachAt Gray Healthcare, we take a clinically informed approach to care, working closely with a team of clinicians to develop and implement individualized care plans. This approach has been proven to improve the lives and outcomes of the people we support.
Training and DevelopmentWe are committed to providing ongoing training and development opportunities for our Support Workers. This includes an initial week of training, which covers company induction, systems, and medication management, as well as in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a PBS approach to least restrictive practice. You will also receive ongoing training and support to help you develop your skills and career.
Hours and ShiftsWe typically have 12-hour shifts, but there can be flexibility around this depending on needs and requests. We have the following contracts available:
- 08.00am-20.00pm - 24 or 36 hours per week.
- Shifts will include a mixture of days and waking nights - can be discussed further at Pre-Screen.
- Shift times can vary due to the gentleman visiting family or holidays - will be discussed in more detail at Pre-Screen.
