About the Role

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer - SEND; Complex Needs to join our team. As a key member of our Horizons Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, including schemes of work, to cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Implement learner-centered assessment methods, focusing on constructive feedback to promote student growth and development.
  • Monitor and report on student attendance, progress, and achievements, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide personal coaching and pastoral support to designated students, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments in your specialist area, ensuring our students receive relevant and employable skills.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, enhancing your knowledge and practice within the education sector.
Requirements
  • Possess a teaching qualification or be willing to undertake further education training.
  • Hold a qualification in a relevant SEND subject specialism.
  • Meet the minimum requirements for Math and English Level 2.
  • Bring at least 5 years of experience working with learners who have SEND.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the SEND sector.
  • Experience working with young people in the Post 16 sector.
