Job Summary

KCM Technical is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer - Building Maintenance to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our building's electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Electrical System Maintenance: Take ownership of building electrical systems, including power distribution, controls, and safety controls.
  2. Facilities Management: Investigate and resolve deficiencies in facility building and equipment.
  3. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  4. Project Management: Develop scope of work for facility construction and equipment installation projects and support the bid process.
  5. Contractor Management: Manage outside contractor services supporting building and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  6. Efficiency Improvements: Develop and promote efficiency improvements in building systems to reduce utility usage and maintenance costs.
  7. Project Coordination: Ensure owner's interests are protected with respect to health and safety, cost, schedule, liability, and function on facility construction and renovation projects.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's of Applied Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience: 3-5 years engineering experience with facility electrical systems such as power distribution, controls, safety controls, and lighting.
  3. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, TSSA standards, OHSA, CSA, and local by-laws.
  4. Skills: Ability to interpret and develop electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications. Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
  5. Work Environment: Experience working in a unionized environment. Strong project management skills, organizational skills, teamwork, written, and verbal communication.
  6. Physical Demands: Driving Required 100% onsite.
