Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Property Maintenance Operative to support our organization on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, litter collection, and the removal of waste and debris using both handheld and powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness across all designated areas, both inside and outside, including communal spaces, landscaped gardens, stairwells, fire escapes, and other essential facilities.
  • Utilize hand and power-operated cleaning tools such as vacuums, buffers, and mops effectively.
  • Perform caretaking duties, including unblocking waste chutes, ensuring fire safety equipment is functional, managing waste disposal, and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Engage in outdoor activities to clear litter and manage fly-tipping incidents.
  • Uphold Health and Safety standards by inspecting all areas and reporting any necessary repairs or concerns.
  • Conduct risk assessments prior to commencing tasks and address any identified hazards.
  • Additional duties may include delivering informational materials to properties and painting communal areas as needed.
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings on a rotational basis for waste management and emergency situations.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations where Incommunities customers reside.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a physically demanding role, such as cleaning, caretaking, or waste collection.
  • Familiarity with a range of hand tools and power-operated equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • A positive and adaptable approach to work.
  • Understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles.
