About the Role

The Study Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Project Skills tutor to join our team at the University of Sheffield International College. As a key member of our Science Team, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring international students in classroom-based sessions, focusing on Research Project for STEM and Project Skills for STEM modules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess students in Research Project for STEM and Project Skills for STEM modules, ensuring high-quality learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including assessments and feedback mechanisms, to support student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to lead the teaching team, contribute to Quality Assurance procedures, and ensure teaching materials are up-to-date.
  • Act as a module coordinator, overseeing the delivery of teaching and learning activities, and ensuring the effective management of teaching resources.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and other stakeholders, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Master's or higher degree in an Engineering or Science-related discipline, with experience in teaching Science or Engineering at RQF level 4 or above. You will also have a working knowledge of MATLAB and Microsoft Excel, as well as competence in teaching and administrative IT skills, using a Virtual Learning Environment (e.g. Blackboard).
