Key Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity exists for a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Administrator to join the Norfolk & Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust.

This position is pivotal in delivering administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the Haematology service. The successful candidate will play a crucial role within a dynamic and innovative multidisciplinary team dedicated to managing cancer patients effectively.

This role provides insight into the remarkable contributions of the NHS, from daily patient care to groundbreaking research aimed at developing future treatment strategies.

Familiarity with NHS performance metrics, such as Referral to Treatment (RTT) and cancer targets, is beneficial, but the ability to communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team members is paramount.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate the Multidisciplinary Team meetings, ensuring accurate patient lists for discussion and effective data collection to support the process. Collaborate with the Cancer team, clinicians, and other coordinators to develop policies for seamless patient management.
  • Organize weekly MDT meetings, ensuring the venue and necessary equipment are prepared, and compile patient lists in collaboration with the Clinical Team.
  • Generate reports from the Somerset Cancer Registry for local audits and facilitate patient satisfaction surveys in partnership with the Trust audit department.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for MDT meetings and produce annual reports for the MDT lead, ensuring all relevant information is available for discussions.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, ensuring effective liaison among multidisciplinary team members, other Trusts, GP practices, patients, and caregivers.
  • In the absence of the Patient Pathway Coordinator, oversee the patient journey from referral through diagnostics and treatment, identifying potential delays and ensuring accurate data collection.
