About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Ranger to join our team in the beautiful West Lakes region. As a key member of our Ranger team, you will play a vital role in protecting and preserving the natural beauty of our countryside.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our experienced Ranger team to develop and implement conservation projects that promote the health and biodiversity of our upland habitats.
  • Conduct surveys and assessments to identify erosion problems and develop effective solutions to prevent further damage.
  • Collaborate with our Fix the Fells team to repair and maintain upland paths, ensuring safe and accessible routes for visitors.
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote the importance of conservation and encourage participation in our projects.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Practical experience in land, conservation, and access management to level 2 or 6 months vocational experience.
  • Ability to work outside in all weathers and deliver tasks when conditions are not ideal.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Positive attitude and approachable demeanor.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
