About the Role:

This is a challenging leadership position that requires strong project management skills and the ability to oversee a team of circa 20 permanent and temporary staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating workload and maintaining both weekly and daily targets, as well as managing the weekly planner to ensure projects meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Allocate workload and maintain both weekly and daily targets, ensuring that the team is working towards common goals.
  • Manage the weekly planner to ensure projects meet deadlines and are completed to a high standard.
  • Support staff training and inductions, ensuring that all team members have the skills and knowledge they need to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with the Operations Director to ensure that the warehouse is running smoothly and that all projects are on track.
  • Implement improvements within the processes or warehouse where needed, ensuring that the team is working in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Encourage a positive culture within the warehouse, ensuring that all team members feel valued and supported.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure that all products are of a high standard.
  • Champion health and safety within the warehouse, ensuring that all team members are aware of and follow all safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Experience within a similar role or warehouse/distribution or project management environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and IT literacy, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects to a high standard.
