Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance Department at AB Dynamics Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of our finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
  • Conduct variance analysis and review inventory, including price and usage variances, standard costs, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and monitor projects.
  • Support ongoing ERP developments and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.
  • Liaise with budget holders and ensure internal controls are implemented.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support year-end work, including liaison with auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 2 years of post-qualified experience.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing setting.
  • Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English.
  • IT skills, including Excel.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
