Job Title: Chef

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Richmond Court, a purpose-built residential care home that specializes in Alzheimer's, learning disability, and dementia-related care. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food services to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and promoting a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff members in the use of equipment and hygiene procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence in culinary arts.
  • Prepare and serve meals that cater to special dietary requirements and preferences of individual residents.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment is clean and well-maintained.

Health and Safety:
  • Ensure all crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored properly, and the overall cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas is carried out effectively.
  • Implement and maintain statutory health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Home Manager or Person in Charge immediately.
  • Understand and implement the Care Centre's Health and Safety policy and emergency procedures.
  • Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment, or potential hazards to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a care home or residential setting.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
