Position Summary
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled and driven HGV Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our operations, providing the chance to contribute to one of the UK's leading logistics companies.
Shift Details
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Working Hours: 42 hours per week, Continental Nights
- Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
- Night Shift: 18:40 – 07:00
Key Responsibilities
As an HGV Technician, you will report directly to the Workshop Manager and play a vital role in our team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting maintenance and servicing on our fleet of approximately 1500 vehicles and 2700 trailers.
- Performing fault diagnostics on various vehicles.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.
- Executing routine checks on HGV vehicles.
- Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess experience in a similar Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant role, with a solid understanding of vehicle maintenance. A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience is preferred.
Familiarity with brands such as Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo, and Renault is essential. Candidates should embody DPD's core values: Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability.
While an irtec licence is advantageous, it is not mandatory as we offer opportunities for further accreditation. A LGV Class 1 Driving Licence is desirable but not essential.
