Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the engineering team at Mint Selection, the Mechanical Project Engineer will report directly to the Project Engineering Manager. This role is integral to the successful execution of engineering tasks for a series of utility-scale projects focused on hydrogen-ready gas peaking and energy storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Design Coordination**:

a. Oversee the integration of design inputs from various contractors involved in the project.

b. Proactively identify and address design challenges, escalating issues as necessary.

c. Facilitate design coordination meetings among contractors to ensure accountability.

d. Maintain and update the design register, providing timely information to the project team.

e. Ensure contractors meet their design deliverable deadlines effectively.

2. **Document Management**:

a. Administer all mechanical and process documentation required for the project.

b. Guarantee that the latest revisions of all documents are utilized by contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

3. **Communication of Design Information**:

a. Be present on-site regularly to facilitate communication between contractors and the site team.

b. Conduct site visits to monitor design progress and assist in resolving any arising issues.

4. **Future Project Development**:

a. Collaborate with the Engineering Director in crafting designs and specifications for upcoming projects.

5. **Owner's Engineer Role**:

a. Review mechanical design work conducted by contractors across various projects.

6. **Mechanical Design Specification**:

a. Provide high-level specifications for mechanical designs related to hydrogen-ready gas peaking projects.

7. **Representation**:

a. Act as a representative of Mint Selection in discussions with designers, suppliers, and on-site teams.

Preferred Skills

While not mandatory, the following skills would be advantageous:

  • Understanding of gas engine project design.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations up to 400kV.
  • Experience in gas peaking plant construction.
  • Proficient in process engineering concepts, including PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Competence in AutoCAD 2D and 3D CAD design.
Qualifications

• MEng in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

3-10 years of experience in an EPC or energy generation context, particularly in gas peaking plants, energy storage, wind, or solar projects.
