Position Overview:

We are in search of a motivated, innovative, and exceptionally organized individual to assume the role of Communications and Engagement Specialist for LD4D. This initiative represents a global network of stakeholders dedicated to enhancing livestock data and evidence, facilitating the transition towards more sustainable and inclusive livestock systems, particularly in low- and middle-income nations.

Role Highlights:

This position will play a pivotal role in advancing LD4D communications, fostering member engagement, and promoting collaboration within our international network. Our members and partners encompass policymakers, the livestock sector, academic researchers, and project implementers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing a new strategy for member engagement.
  • Create communication materials and multimedia outreach initiatives to share insights from significant events.
  • Revise and enhance website content to boost member interaction.
  • Oversee daily management of social media platforms and website content.
  • Participate in on-campus knowledge exchange activities to highlight research efforts.

The position is situated within SEBI-Livestock, hosted by the Roslin Institute and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. SEBI-Livestock provides a collaborative and dynamic environment, offering opportunities for professional development and the chance to contribute to addressing real-world challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Outstanding organizational abilities with a proven track record in coordinating projects, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines, and delivering results in a globally oriented multidisciplinary program.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including strong proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in a relevant role, demonstrating successful execution of communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to organize successful in-person and/or virtual events, with technical proficiency in platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Experience in developing multimedia communication products (e.g., graphics, videos, factsheets) and proficiency in design and editing tools.

This position is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working arrangements. Additionally, requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combine remote and regular on-campus work will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to attend weekly in-person team meetings.
