Senior Reliability Engineer

Join a leading kitchen manufacturer and shape the future of reliability engineering at Howdens Joinery.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Reliability Engineer to join our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Howden, East Yorkshire. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will lead a team focused on enhancing manufacturing performance and spearhead projects aimed at improving reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and mentor the Reliability Technician team to ensure their work aligns with production goals, engineering requirements, and health and safety standards.
  2. Drive the continuous improvement of equipment reliability and availability by leading Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) activities.
  3. Collaborate closely with Planning and Maintenance teams to meet Maintenance Excellence objectives.
  4. Play a pivotal role in the implementation and refinement of our group standards, acting as a key supporter for Maintenance Managers.
  5. Champion Root Cause Analysis processes, providing guidance and coaching to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  1. A time-served Electrical/Mechanical Engineer or equivalent qualification (e.g., HNC in Electrical Engineering or an apprenticeship in Automation/Controls).
  2. Proven ability to solve complex problems and drive improvements through teamwork and collaboration between Engineering and Operations.
  3. Familiarity with utilities (gas, water, high-pressure boiler systems) and safety/environmental legislation.
  4. Strong IT skills, including experience with PC-controlled machinery, preventative maintenance systems, and SAP-based stores.
