Searcys @ The Barbican Centre is expanding its culinary team and is in search of a Culinary Events Supervisor to join us in this remarkable venue.

As a Culinary Events Supervisor, you will need to be versatile, as the location hosts a variety of events simultaneously across multiple levels. You will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily operations while guiding and developing the junior kitchen staff to produce exceptional events and high-quality cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and service at a consistently high standard, including supporting senior chefs with functions in various areas of the business.
  • Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff members.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan for food provision across all areas.
  • Manage orders directly with suppliers.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of daily activities, maintaining the integrity of the pre-established menu.
  • Oversee stock management in your designated area, including ordering and waste control.
  • Guarantee that food presentation aligns with the standards set by senior chefs.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in team leadership.
  • Strong communication skills.
